On February 17, the national development and Reform Commission, the central network information office, the Ministry of industry and information technology and the National Energy Administration jointly issued a document, agreeing to start the construction of National Computing hub nodes in 8 places, including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, Dawan District, Chengdu and Chongqing, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou, Gansu and Ningxia, and planned 10 national data center clusters. So far, the overall layout design of the national integrated big data center system has been completed, and the "counting from the east to the west" project has been officially launched. The "number" in "East number West calculation" usually refers to data, "calculation" refers to computing power, that is, the data processing capacity of the data center.

1、 "Counting from the east to the west" project ushered in new opportunities for the development of IDC industry

Today, let's talk about the data center, the full name of the Internet data center industry, or IDC (Internet Data Center) for short. It provides specialized rack (server and memory) leasing, hosting and other services for Internet enterprises, e-commerce, media and other customers. In 2020, the data center was included in the category of national new infrastructure.

As the infrastructure of the Internet, as long as the Internet is used, it cannot be separated from IDC. In the future, the data center is the data center and computing power carrier to promote the development of 5g, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other new generation digital technologies, which plays an important role in promoting China's economic growth and future development.

However, in the process of operating IDC, it is highly dependent on resources, such as land (sufficient space for facilities) and electricity (the power consumption reaches more than 2.5% of the whole society, and the energy consumption is very high). In addition, the demand of large-scale enterprises such as cloud computing and Internet for epidemic prevention and control has gradually increased in the eastern part of China. In addition, a large number of large-scale enterprises such as cloud computing and remote data centers have been cultivated and distributed in the eastern part of China. In this period, there are a large number of large-scale enterprises for epidemic prevention and control, Therefore, the resources in the eastern region restrict the development and construction of the data center. At present, there is an imbalance between supply and demand.

The western region is abundant in resources and has the potential to develop data centers and undertake the computing power needs of the East. Therefore, in essence, the "East digital West computing" project is to guide large-scale data centers to gather in the hub, make rational use of resources, and flow the data from the east to the West for storage and computing, which is expected to drive the construction of IDC clusters in the western region, benefit the IDC industrial chain and drive economic development.

2、 Introduction to the current development status and trend of IDC industry

1. Market scale

Over the past two years, the growth trend of China's IDC industry has reversed upward: the market scale will reach nearly 200 billion yuan in 2020, reversing the previous trend of continuous slowdown in growth. It is expected that the market scale will exceed 320 billion yuan in 2022. In the future, with the continuous increase of customer demand such as cloud computing, 5g and big data, the market scale of China's IDC industry will continue to maintain a rapid growth trend.

2. Introduction to industrial chain

IDC industrial chain is mainly composed of upstream IDC room infrastructure (power supply equipment, cooling and refrigeration equipment, network IT equipment, etc.), midstream IDC professional services and related solution providers (integrating upstream resources) and downstream end users.

Some institutions and experts estimate that the annual investment volume of the "counting from the east to the west" project will reach hundreds of billions of yuan, and the pulling effect on the data center industry will reach eight times. Through the construction of computing power hub and data center cluster, it will effectively drive the upstream and downstream investment.

Middle reaches of the industrial chain

IDC competitors are divided into three categories: telecom operators, third-party IDC service providers and cloud service providers.

At present, it is still dominated by the three major operators, accounting for about 50% of the market share (and most of the computer rooms and data centers are for their own use), supplemented by the other two methods. At present, the third-party service providers are growing rapidly, meeting the IDC needs of the core cities with stronger compatibility, and the later pattern is likely to form a cooperation mode with complementary advantages.

The following figure is an analysis of the current advantages and disadvantages of three types of methods:

(1) Classification of upstream equipment types of industrial chain (top cost)

① Distribution system: UPS power supply. In the past, UPS was mainly dominated by foreign enterprises. At present, domestic substitution shows an irreversible strong trend.

② Cooling system: at present, the data center cooler is mainly supplied by foreign enterprises. In the future, the development of green energy conservation in the data center and the tightening of pue control are expected to continue to promote the high-end of temperature control equipment.

③ Cabinet: carrying IDC data equipment, power supply and refrigeration.

④ Optical module: the basis of data center "flow" is the core component of photoelectric conversion. Domestic manufacturers are expected to account for more than 50% of the global market.

⑤ Switch: network equipment for signal forwarding.

⑥ Server chip: CPU chip and GPU chip.

(3) Downstream customers of industrial chain

The main end customers of IDC data center include Internet (including Cloud Computing) manufacturers, financial industry, manufacturing industry, government agencies and other customers. At present, Internet customers (including cloud computing manufacturers) are still the main customer group, accounting for more than 60%. They are more sensitive to the price of IDC services, and require high transmission rate of IDC Network, fast deployment and high power supply density of single machine.

3. Future development trend

In the context of carbon neutrality, IDC, as a high-energy consuming industry, accelerated its green transformation. In October 2021, the national development and Reform Commission, together with the Ministry of industry and information technology and other five ministries and commissions, issued several opinions on strict energy efficiency constraints and promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction in key areas, encouraging key industries to use new infrastructure such as green data centers to achieve energy conservation and consumption reduction, and the power utilization efficiency of new large and super large data centers will not exceed 1.3 in the future, Combined with the policy of "counting from the east to the west" and carbon neutralization, green data center is the general trend of future development.

In addition, due to the heavy asset attribute of the data center industry, the project has the characteristics of large initial investment and long return cycle. Coupled with the strict national control of energy consumption indicators, the industry barriers are extremely deep. When the industry is in the integration stage, it will focus on the existing advantageous enterprises in the future, Accelerate the clearance of old data centers (at present, the intensive advantages of super large data centers are prominent, and the national data centers show the development trend of "volume reduction and volume increase". According to relevant data, the proportion of super large data centers in China accounted for 11% in 2016 and 37% in 2019).

Aofei data IDC project continues to advance. Large projects are under construction in Langfang, Guangzhou, Nansha, Tianjin, Kunming and Nanchang. After the construction is completed, the scale of cabinets is expected to increase from 16000 to more than 70000. At present, the total revenue of several major long-term contracts with Baidu, Kwai Fu and Ali is about 2000000000 yuan.

In the development of green data center, aofei new energy starts from the demand side and takes the self built Langfang xunyun data center as a strategic pilot to build a photovoltaic power generation system and connect it to the data center for power consumption.

In terms of performance, the third quarterly report company achieved a revenue of 924 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56%; Deduction of non net profit of 138 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 77%, with great growth potential in the future!
